Antarte donated one hundred beds to the Municipality of Crato. This solidarity initiative aims to help this Alentejo village to provide the Municipal Reception Centre, imposed by the General Directorate of Health to face the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Agostinho Roseta Professional School and the services area of the Crato water park are, as of today, able to receive users who need to be accompanied. The two zones – one Covid and one non-Covid – will have the capacity to receive 38 users and each space will also have 12 beds reserved for caregivers.

“The municipality is more geared towards supporting the IPSS, which for the village of Crato represent four institutions and 250 users. They are our biggest concern, due to their fragile situation and vulnerability to contagion”, says Joaquim Diogo, president of the Municipality of Crato.

“Our main concern was to create two areas where comfort should be the dominant focus. We paid attention to air conditioning, the purchase of suitable mattresses, the height of the beds and we appealed to Antarte to help us with the donation of comfortable beds to welcome our users”, reiterates the person in charge of the municipality.

Guided by a social responsibility that has accompanied us for some years, Antarte has not been able to turn its back on this request. “I know this land very well, whether as an investor and job creator, or as a friend, so when I received Joaquim Diogo's request, I just had to make sure that I would be in a position to take on what he asked of me'”, argues Mário Rocha, CEO of Antarte.

“It is moving to realize that when society is well mobilized, we can make a difference. It doesn't matter where good is done, as long as it is done and that makes me proud”, concludes the CEO
